Bostan Ali Jaheed is an experienced technical expert with more than 15 years of service in Afghanistan’s public sector, specializing in project inspection, monitoring, risk assessment, and field coordination. Based in Kabul, he has built a strong career in technical oversight, training, and management within the country’s infrastructure, energy, and mining sectors.

Since 2011, he has worked at the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum as an officer in the Inspection Department, where he is responsible for analyzing and reviewing field reports, developing annual inspection plans, and preparing comprehensive technical reports for ministry authorities. His role ensures quality control, compliance, and accountability across various mining projects nationwide.

Between 2017 and 2020, Bostan partnered with GIZ’s Good Governance Project in the mining sector, serving as a national trainer. He provided technical training to ministry staff across all 34 Afghan provinces, focusing on mine inspection procedures and reporting standards, thereby strengthening institutional capacity and governance in the sector.

Earlier in his career, he worked as a Construction Monitoring & Evaluation Engineer at the Ministry of Public Works (2007–2010), where he supervised road construction and maintenance projects, and as an Irrigation Monitoring & Evaluation Officer at the Ministry of Water and Energy (2006–2007), where he oversaw canal and facility maintenance projects.

Bostan holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Kabul University (2005) and has further enhanced his expertise through a wide range of international professional training programs, including:

Beyond his professional career, Bostan is passionate about sports and outdoor activities, with interests that include volleyball, climbing, cooking, and water sports. His combination of technical knowledge, leadership in training, and hands-on field experience makes him a valuable asset in advancing sustainable development, mining governance, and infrastructure oversight in Afghanistan.
