Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Reservoir Engineering & Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR)

Dr. Khwaja Naweed Seddiqi is an innovative and results-driven reservoir engineer with extensive experience in oil, gas, and geothermal field development. He specializes in enhanced oil recovery (EOR), reservoir simulation, and geological modeling, with a focus on optimizing injection processes, improving recovery factors, and mitigating reservoir risks through advanced laboratory and simulation studies.

He earned his Ph.D. in Reservoir Engineering and EOR from the China University of Petroleum–Beijing, where his doctoral research focused on decision-making techniques for water conformance using Random Forests. Dr. Seddiqi also holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Tokai University, Japan, and a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Geology from Kabul Polytechnic University.

Dr. Seddiqi has served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Akita University, Japan, contributing to research in EOR and geothermal reservoir development. He also worked as a Technical Expert at Afghanistan’s Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, where he evaluated and optimized exploration and production operations.

His research has been published in international journals including ACS Omega, Applied Sciences, and Energies, covering topics such as weak gel and foam systems, CO₂ storage, and water flooding optimization.

With his deep expertise and commitment to sustainable resource development, Dr. Seddiqi supports Bagram Geo’s mission to advance Afghanistan’s geoscience and energy sector through innovation, research, and technology.
