Dr. Zabih Mahdi is an accomplished professional with a background in petroleum engineering, research, and technical oversight within the mining sector of Afghanistan.

He holds a Ph.D. in International Resource Sciences from Akita University, Japan, and a Master of Engineering from Tokai University.

His experience includes working as a Mines Technical Inspector Engineer for the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MoMP) in Kabul, where he monitored production, reviewed development plans, and conducted technical evaluations of exploration and exploitation activities.

He also served as a Senior Environmental Safeguard Specialist for a World Bank Project.

Dr. Mahdi's research expertise includes enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and reservoir simulation studies, with a focus on increasing recoverable oil in northern Afghanistan's oil fields.

He is a co-author of several publications and has presented at international conferences.

He is proficient in professional software, including Computer Modeling Group (CMG) and Geographic Information System (GIS).
